Our Mission
The mission of Grace Church is to invite people into a meaningful
relationship with Jesus Christ, deepening their faith through the study of God's
Holy Word, and demonstrating faith in the world through mission and service.
Church Profile
Grace United Methodist Church has been incorporated as a church since 1865.
The tradition of the Wesleyan heritage continues in the present day as their
sense of calling to be disciples of Jesus Christ in their community is very
strong. In addition, Grace Church has been very diligent over the years in
its mission giving, both in financial support and physical skills.
One of the strengths of Grace Church resides in its volunteers. People
give of their time and talents to fulfill the mission of discipleship.
With passion and spirit-filled energy, the ministry of the laity is strong in
this church. The staff of Grace Church also provides terrific support for
the mission of the congregation.
Grace Church consistently stands with the leaders of the faith community in
Fergus Falls, supporting the Shepherding Network (formerly the Ministerial Association) by engaging in compassionate and servant-filled
ministries the group has initiated to benefit the area: Jail Inc. Ministry; the
Salvation Army Sharing and Caring Fund; and the Local Food Shelf, to name a few.
Church People
Grace Church has an excellent group of persons who make up the staff and
volunteers, helping ministry through worship, education, and service
opportunities to be relevant to the calling of Christian discipleship. We
invite you to come and meet them. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at Grace
Church will help you get connected to the community in important ways.
The current pastor is the Rev. Dr.
Daren I. Flinck, a native Minnesotan who brings 15 years of ministerial
experience, plus 12 years of managerial experience in the world of business to
the church. In May of 2004, Rev. Flinck received his doctoral degree from
the Doctorate of Ministry program through Drew University, a United Methodist
college in Madison, New Jersey. The innovative online learning program has
brought added depth and new understandings of church leadership to this
postmodern world.
