To those leaving the SE District, those beginning new appointments to the River Valley district, those who move within the district, and those who retire, we wish you God’s blessings as you begin new journeys of ministry in your lives.

 

Farewell

· Art Keith has been appointed to Extension Ministries: General Board of Global Ministries—Missionary Service at the International Church of Lund, Sweden.  Art has served Wells UMC since 2003.

· Pat Hinker has been appointed to St. Paul: Hamline church as Transitional (aka Intentional Interim) Pastor.  Pat served the Owatonna UMC since 2003.

· John Darlington has been appointed to Minneapolis: Simpson and Joyce churches in the Twin Cities district.  John has served Rochester:Christ church since 2005.

· Jef Olson has been appointed to Buffalo church.  Jef has served Stewartville UMC since 1998.

· Jon Marburger has been appointed to Slayton, Lake Wilson churches in the Southern Prairie District.  Jon as served Waseca Evangelical since 2004.

· Garth Schumacher has served an interim pastor with Nerstrand and St. John’s UCC for the past several months.  Garth has answered a call to another UCC church.

 

Moves within the district

· Linda K. Grounds has been appointed to Stewartville church.  Linda has served La Crescent and Dakota: Riverside churches since 2000.

· Michael L. Wuehler has been appointed to Rochester: Christ church.  Mike has served as the SE District Superintendent since 2001.

 

Realignments

· Woodbury and Cottage Grove: Peaceful Grove are a newly merged, multi-site congregation. The multi-site congregation will be served by Daniel L. Wetterstrom and associates Christina A. Koppes and Ruth Ann Ramstad.

· Savage: Glendale and Shakopee: Calvary have become a two point charge served by David Taylor.

 

Retirements

· Joyce Shaman has retired from serving Glenville UMC as a local pastor.

· George Toschak has re-retired after serving as interim pastor for Faribault: Fourth Avenue church for the past year.

· Keith Weber retired from the Nerstrand and St. John’s UCC churches on October 28, 2007. Keith served the churches for 15 years.

 

Welcome to the River Valley District

· Clay Oglesbee has been appointed at District Superintendent of the River Valley District.  Clay is currently serving the Northfield UMC.

· David E. Brown has been appointed to Faribault: Fourth Avenue church from Lakeland: St. Croix Valley church in the Metro East District

· David Price has been appointed to La Crescent and Dakota: Riverside churches.  David is currently serving Pipestone: Peace church in Southwest District.

· Michael W. Smith has been appointed to Lanesboro, Harmony-State Line churches from Walnut Grove church.  His appointment was effective February 1, 2008.

· Daren Flinck has been appointed to Lakeland: St. Croix Valley church.  He is currently serving Fergus Falls: Grace in the Northwest District.

· Jane Souhrada has been appointed to Nerstrand and St. John’s UCC churches.  Jane has been serving Blaine UMC in the Metro East District.            

· Loren M. Olson has been appointed to Owatonna UMC from Little Falls: First United church in the Northeast District.

· Ruth Ann Ramstad has been appointed to Woodbury and Cottage Grove: Peaceful Grove (multi-site congregation) as an associate. Ruth Ann is currently serving Buffalo church in the Metro West District.

· Debora Miller will be serving Glenville UMC.  Deb is a certified candidate and will be attending Local Pastor's School this summer.
